When I came here last time (which was about the same time last year), the crystal part of the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) was still under construction and there wasn’t much to see. But this time~ it was definitely quite different with the Darwin exhibition and the Dinosaur exhibits! & Of course the…..
finished product of the crystal architecture was quite impressive!
Walking towards the new entrance of the ROM under the crystal-like architecture.
The interior of the ROM – the new and the old.
The yellow brick part actually reminds me of the Museum of Natural History in London! The color and style of architecture is so similar!!
The ancient Chinese wall painting art.
Intricate art pieces that was created for emperial tombs.
The golden Byzantine-like mosaic dome that was glittering like real gold.
There was a special exhibition on Darwin – about his life, how he worked, his “means’ of developing his theory, his speciments (or replicas of it), his tools, letters, etc. It was quite fascinating. & The place was definitely crowded!
We couldn’t take photos in the Darwin exhibiton but we could took photos of these huge turtles at the exit of the exhibition without flash.
Some guy was filling these huge balloons that was supposedly to be the “roof" or cover of a stand/booth inside the museum for some special function that was happening on the day.
Other than Darwin, the other star of the museum was the dinosaur exhibition. It is also quite a well done exhibition. Doesn’t this look like the dino on the cover of the Jurassic Park movie poster?
The Ice Age huge mammoths.
Other exhibitions in the ROM.
